Michael Dietz
Michael developed his dream of acting while doing something that many of us spend our Wednesday nights doing. He decided he wanted to pursue acting, after watching the television show Beverly Hills, 90210, while majoring in Marketing at Pennsylvania State University. He was enamored by the lifestyle depicted on the show and imagined what it would like to live there. He decided to drive out to Los Angeles, after his sophomore year in college, just to check it out. He had only planned to stay in Los Angeles for a few months. His initial intention was to return to Penn State and then permanently relocate to LA after he finished college. However, after tagging along with a friend to a party for White Men Can't Jump, at Woody Harrelson's house, he decided to stay. He met a manager at this party, who set him up with an agent. The next thing he knew he called his parents and told them what he wanted to do. He notes that his parents were very supportive. However he also notes that if they were not and had told him to get back to Pennsylvania to finish college, he probably would have done just that. Lucky for us, they encouraged him to pursue this new dream of his. Ironically, one of the first acting jobs that he got was on none other than Beverly Hills, 90210. He has also appeared on Baywatch, a television movie titled Someone's Watching, and a television pilot titled Nowhere Fast.
Prior to landing the role of Dr. Joe Scanlon on Port Charles, he had the contract role of Alan-Michael Spaulding on the long running CBS drama Guiding Light. Following Guiding Light, Michael appeared as Joe Scanlon on the ABC sudser Port Charles. Following Port Charles, Michael worked on Looking For Bobby D, and has since done numerous commercial projects, and is currently auditioning for a number of feature film and television projects.
